Chapung Sebali Resort Ubud is a 5-star jungle resort in Sebali village, about ten minutes north of Ubud, where villas and suites look out over a green river valley and rice terraces. It suits couples, honeymooners, and families who want design, space, and quiet close to Ubud’s culture.
The Danish-owned resort, part of Guldsmeden Hotels, blends Indonesian architecture with Scandinavian style and a strong focus on sustainability. It has just 22 rooms, a spa, a yoga pavilion, an infinity pool, and the well-known Jungle Fish pool bar.
Chapung Sebali Resort Ubud offers suites, villas, and residences, all with valley or jungle views. The Deluxe Suite with Valley View (60 m²) sleeps up to four, and the Deluxe Pool Suite with Valley View (80 m²) adds a private pool. For more space, the One-Bedroom Villa with Private Pool covers about 300 m², and the Family Villa with Private Pool about 400 m². The Luxury Residence, a private pool villa of 500 to 600 m², suits groups of up to six. Rooms combine red brick walls, black marble accents, floor-to-ceiling windows, and oversized bathrooms, with air conditioning, a flat-screen TV, and a minibar.
Guests at Chapung Sebali Resort Ubud share a resort pool, an infinity pool overlooking the valley, and a children’s pool. Chapung Spa offers massage, body wraps, and manicures and pedicures, with couples treatment rooms and outdoor treatment areas, and the yoga pavilion and gym keep you active. There is a library, a pool table at the Blind Pig bar, free Wi-Fi, free parking, bicycle rental, a shuttle service, a tour desk, and a concierge. Laundry and luggage storage are available, and families will find free cribs and babysitting for a surcharge.
Dining at Chapung Sebali Resort Ubud centers on the Jungle Fish pool bar, which serves Mediterranean dishes for breakfast and lunch, and The Upper Deck, the resort’s fine dining restaurant. In the evening, the Blind Pig speakeasy bar serves craft cocktails. Breakfast can be buffet, continental, vegetarian, vegan, halal, or Asian. Between meals, you can book a spa treatment, join a yoga class, rent a bicycle, or ask the tour desk to arrange a day trip around Ubud.
Chapung Sebali Resort Ubud sits on Jalan Raya Sebali in Keliki, Tegallalang, about ten minutes north of central Ubud. Ubud Palace and Pura Dalem Ubud are around a 10-minute drive away, Ubud Traditional Art Market about 11 minutes, and Ubud Monkey Forest about 12 minutes. Campuhan Ridge Walk is within a 10-minute drive, and the Tegallalang rice terraces are about 7.7 km away. Chapung Sebali Resort Ubud works best for couples, honeymooners, and families who want a design-led jungle retreat rather than a town hotel. On Booking.com, guests rate the staff highest at about 9.8, followed by cleanliness, comfort, and facilities at about 9.6. One honest note: the resort sits on a hillside outside central Ubud, so plan on the shuttle or a driver, and some guests find the private pools a little cool and the activities for children limited beyond the pools.

We stayed here as a couple for 5 days, and everything was absolutely wonderful. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming, attentive, and always ready to help. Honestly, there is nothing we could complain about. We stayed in Villa No. 3, which I highly recommend for couples looking for privacy and a peaceful stay. Having our own private pool made the experience even more special and relaxing.
We are a family of four and stayed in one of the rooms overlooking the jungle. The view was absolutely breathtaking! The rooms are spacious, comfortable and beautifully designed, making it the perfect place to relax and enjoy the surroundings. The location is fantastic, plenty of activities nearby, including white-water rafting, quad biking, and the beautiful rice terraces.
We have come for our honeymoon. The staff were friendly, and both the indoor and outdoor facilities were clean and excellent. The natural views outside in particular were refreshing and calming. The dining and the pool were both great. If I come to Bali again, I will stay here. However, the access roads are narrow, so depending on the weather there can be some inconvenience.
