Wapa di Ume Sidemen is a 5-star boutique resort on a rice-terraced hillside in Sidemen, East Bali, where rooms and villas look over green paddies, a river valley, and the silhouette of Mount Agung. It suits couples, honeymooners, yoga lovers, and travelers who want a quiet, slow-paced Bali far from the beach clubs.
The resort has 21 rooms, suites, and villas, a two-tiered pool, Kapha Spa, a yoga pavilion, and a restaurant and bar with valley views. It is about 1.5 hours from Ngurah Rai Airport and around 45 minutes from the east coast near Candidasa.
Wapa di Ume Sidemen has three room types, all with a king bed, air conditioning, a safe, and complimentary bottled water. Each opens to a private balcony or terrace with views of rice fields or rainforest. The Lanai Room (about 58 m²) has a sunken bath and a spacious balcony. The Di Ume Suite (about 61 m²) adds a canopied bed, a sofa bed, and a more rustic, natural style. The One Bedroom Pool Villa (about 118 m²) is the largest, with a private pool, a sunken tub, and a waterfall shower. Some units connect, which helps families and small groups.
Guests at Wapa di Ume Sidemen can swim in the two-tiered pool, work out in the gym, or borrow a bicycle at no charge. Kapha Spa has three private treatment rooms with valley views and is open from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Free morning yoga is held in the yoga pavilion, and guided rice paddy walks, cycling, and offering-making are offered as free activities on schedule. Balinese cooking lessons, including a visit to a traditional market, are optional. There is free parking, free Wi-Fi in all areas, a 24-hour front desk, laundry service, a boutique, a hair salon, and a wedding chapel. A free area shuttle and an airport transfer are available.
The restaurant at Wapa di Ume Sidemen serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and Bar57 mixes signature cocktails and nightcaps. Room service is available, and the resort can set up a floating breakfast in your private pool or a candlelit dinner under the stars for couples. The cafes and warungs of Sidemen are a short walk or drive away if you want to eat out.
Wapa di Ume Sidemen sits in Banjar Dinas Tebola, Sidemen, above the Telaga Waja River. Pesaban Traditional Village is about 5 km away, and the Telaga Waja River is about 15 km away. Padang Bay Beach and Padangbai Pier are about a 31 to 32-minute drive, Klungkung Market is about 35 minutes away, and Candidasa is roughly 45 minutes. Ngurah Rai Airport is around 1.5 hours by car. Wapa di Ume Sidemen works best for couples, honeymooners, and wellness-minded travelers who want views of rice fields and Mount Agung, a private pool, and early mornings on the yoga deck. Guest ratings are very high, with Expedia showing around 9.8 out of 10. One honest note: the resort is remote, so plan on a driver, the Lanai Rooms near the restaurant can be noisy at breakfast, the floating breakfast can make the main pool busy in the morning, and Sidemen is rainier and greener than the coast.

The best of Bali. An absolutely incredible stay in a truly magical place! Everything was perfect, from the stunning surroundings to the wonderful atmosphere. A very special mention to the entire staff, both at the restaurant and the hotel, for their kindness, warm smiles, attentiveness, and outstanding service. They truly made our stay unforgettable!
I went in with relatively low expectations, but this was the best place I stayed during my Bali trip. The views were amazing, there are three pools so it felt spacious and comfortable, and the staff were incredibly friendly. I canceled all my tours and just stayed at the hotel. The afternoon tea, pre-dinner treats, and coffee were all delicious, and they kept bringing food so I never had a chance to be hungry. I need to go back…
We stayed at Wapa di Ume Sidemen and absolutely loved it. The whole resort feels so peaceful and relaxing, surrounded by rice fields and mountains with the most beautiful views everywhere you look. It was the perfect place to properly slow down and switch off for a few days. The luxury tent was an amazing experience and the attention to detail throughout the resort made the stay feel really special. The staff were also so kind and welcoming, a special mention to Budi & Dewi for their amazing service!
